Why are you boxing?

In 2016, Julia took up boxing as a form of exercise and stress relief following a personal setback. What began casually, evolved into an important outlet for both physical and emotional strength. The past 2 years, Julia has been on maternity leave and tried to participate in this event in 2024 (birthed baby 1 November 2023, Carter Ruth) and 2025 (June 2025 baby 2, Kennedy Bernadette) but has committed in 2026. After relocating to Midtown East—where access to boxing gyms was more limited—she shifted her focus to running along the East River, running the NYC marathon and getting ready for her next physical feat! Over the years, life milestones including marriage, injury, and the birth of two children temporarily pulled her away from boxing, but in 2026, she is ready to re-commit and fight for the future of her and others children.
